Gretchen Sedaris  was our guest speaker for Sunday, May 18, 2014.  Gretchen, a Raleigh native, has worked with the City of Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department for the past seven years and currently holds the position of City Horticulturalist. Prior to coming to Raleigh, Gretchen worked in a local native plant nursery for five years and a private botanical garden for three years.
Gretchen describes her self as a “nature freak” and is often found hiking undeveloped land looking for treasures of nature. She is passionate about her profession especially native and invasive plants.

Gretchen is a graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design. She loves to paint, garden and journal, her subjects most often being nature. She currently lives in a historic home in Louisburg where she is removing invasives and developing a wildlife habitat garden.
